Rembrandt

The incomparable splendour of self-portraits is revealed in his brush. In addition, thematic oil paintings have no importance. Jesus is in a storm on the Sea of Galilee. An old man is sitting alone, a wonderful light falling on his face from the window. Very few works of art can be compared with his paintings in color density, depth, brightness.

His name is Rembrandt. The very talented artist was born in Holland on July 15, 1606. His full name is Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn. He made an outstanding contribution to the Dutch golden age. He is considered one of the most famous artists in Holland and one of the best painters in the history of Europe.

He was interested in drawing since he was a child. He drew the picture of the animal in the mathematics book. Realising the son interest in painting, his father admitted him to the school of a local artist. Strengthening the early foundations of painting there, Rembrandt went to Peter Lastman, a famous Amsterdam artist of the time.

After several years of rigorous training, Rembrandt made his debut as an independent painter. Due to his work, fame and respect soon came to his hands. At just twenty-five years of age, the fame of his art was spread all over Rembrant town.

He did not confine himself to one kind of work just like the artists of his era. He is a unique face in the history of Dutch art. He has been revered throughout the ages for his intensely imaginative and emotional paintings. He was familiar with all types of art. His artwork stunned art connoisseurs.  He is an artist of the ultimate quality in face or self-portrait. He composed about 90 self-portraits throughout his life.

Moreover, all his surprises have enriched this genre of landscape painting.

His metaphors, historical figures, biblical words and mythological creations deeply enrich the art-history of the world. Even after so much, he has done animal studies.

Seventeenth to Eighteenth Century – During this period, Rembrandt was somewhat forgotten. However, at the end of the eighteenth century, his artwork was rediscovered. The language of the shadows of his paintings, the psychological aspect of his paintings attracted new people, artists of different countries.

Even in the twenty-first century, numerous readers like me have been attracted to his skill in art.
