The famous India’s polygamist and a religious sect’s leader died on Sunday. No one in the world had so many wives. He made a record by getting married 10 times in one year. Every wife did not leave him before his death. 

Indian media said that Chana died as a result of problems connected to diabetes and high blood pressure. Mr. Abhishek, the deputy commissioner of Serchhip district said, “He died today (Sunday) as per the reports received.” 

Chana Ziona – Head of the family and record holder

Chana Ziona was born into a simple middle-class family in Mizoram, adjacent to Bangladesh.  He got married for the first time in 1959 when he was just 17 years old. However, he could not be satisfied with a marriage. He got married many times since then. He thus married a total of 39 women. No one in the world has so many wives. In one year, he had set a record of 10 marriages. The news published in the London World Record on March 13 revealed that Ziona Chana is the head of the largest family in the world. He has 39 wives, 89 children, 14 daughters-in-law and 33 grandchildren. In 2004 Chana married his last wife  who was a 25-year-old. The exact number of his children is not correctly predicted, but some shopkeepers claiming he had 89 children. Although others including Canada’s Winston Blackmore are believed to have more than 100 children . 

As Aljazeera reported, his father formed Chana Pawl in 1942, a religious sect in Mizoram that he leaded as a spokesman. Mizoram’s Baktawang hamlet is home to roughly 2,000 members of the Chana Pawl. 

The house is the most attractive to visitors in Mizoram— “New Generation Home.” 

Whole Family in a Single House

In the above picture showing that Ziona’s house is as big as his family. He had 100 rooms in his house where he lived with everyone. His house as well as his wives’ house. He had a private room in where he was staying. The wives shared a dormitory near Chana’s private room. They lived far or near according to the wedding day. That is, the one whom he married at the end was the closest, and the one whom he married first was the farthest. However, everyone was allowed to enter Ziona’s house. 

Have a look in the kitchen

All his sons lived with their wives in Ziona’s house. Although everyone in his family has a separate house, there is only one kitchen. That means the family cooks together. They cook 100 kg of rice and more than 60 kg of potatoes every day. And there is no point in cooking meat. The whole family needs about 60 kg of potatoes and 40 chickens. Ziona’s sons all work in farming and raising animals. 

A School for children of his own family

Despite being the head of the largest family in the world, Ziona did not want to stop here. He was proud to be the head of the largest family in the world. He wanted to raise his family further. Meanwhile, he has also built a school for the younger members of the family where his children and grandchildren have studied and the school is getting some government grant. Like the kings of earlier times, Ziona lived happily ever after with his many wives and children.
