World’s Largest doner kebab weighing 1198 kilograms and 2.6 meters in height , was made in turkey on last tuesday.

Aba Piknik restaurant chain prepared this to mark as the starting of a new shopping Festival “Ankara”.
This Kebab was so heavy that it had to use crane to move it from out of restaurant. The Kebab was prepared from fresh seven beef
and ten cook was involved .
Guinness World Record’s judge Seyda Subasi was present there and he measured the weight after the first layer completely cooked.

And he declared that this Kebab smashed previous records 468 kg (Dubai, UAE in last august).

After this suuccess, cooks cut it into pieces and prepare special sandwitch from this kebab..


About Doner Kebab

It is a Turkish dish prepared by roasted meat on a vertical spit.
It taking modern form when it started out as horizontal stack of a meat Which was mentioned in Ottoman travel books (eighteenth century).

In nineteenth century, this Kebab had started to be cooked vertically and stuffed with different spices.

But The doner kebab which people know, was invented by Mahmut Aygun in 1971 after he decided to put meat inside Pita bread.
