Pauline Musters who was born in 1876 and died in 1895 is considered the shortest woman ever at 23 inches (58 cm) high, recognized by the Guinness Book of Records. She was born in Ossendrecht, Netherlands February 26, 1876, she died in New York at the age of 19 years from a combination of pneumonia and meningitis.
