Do u know that if you die in Amsterdam with no next of kin and no-one to attend your funeral, a poet will write a poem for you and recite it at your funeral ? Yeah, Its a real true fact. but now its also done in the Dutch cities of Utrecht, Den Haag, Rotterdam. Actually it’s all done by volunteers, each of these cities has a number of “Poets on duty”. Apart form the poem, the volunteers select three pieces of music to be played at the funeral.
