You won’t believe the government had banned these things in certain countries. Let’s begin with the Emo-style clothing which got banned in Russia. It consists of teens wearing black hair with fringes that cover the face, black clothes, and facial piercings since there was a high rate of suicide among teens. The government thought the Emo clothing style contributed to committing suicide. The Emo style got banned in schools and government buildings.

In Denmark giving children, new names were illegal apart from the 24000 names approved by the government. Each parent was expected to choose a name from the 24000 approved names and if they wanted a different name they were to apply for permission from the government. The ban was done to protect the child from being offensive or having an embarrassing name. Many other countries have child naming laws governing the meaning of the name. Some of these countries are France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, China, Iceland, Portugal, Japan and New Zealand.

The Jasmine flower in China was banned in 2011 because Jasmine revolution in Tunisia caused Chinese protestors. However, currently citizens in China can take the Jasmine tea from the Jasmine flower. Other things that china banned from its citizens was the game consoles in 2000 a law was enacted to prevent the youth from wasting their time and not working. Also, the Chinese officials had worries about the violent content of the video games which could lead to moral decay. Not only China but Greece to had banned the video games in 2002 where the government wanted to reduce the number of illegal gambling specifically the gambling of electronic machines. The Greece government had banned any games using the electronic mechanisms and software.

Saudi Arabia government banned Valentine’s Day because it is thought to be a violation of Muslim believes. Where the government banned all the florist and gift shops not to sell anything red, otherwise it would be considered symbol of romance that is violating the law. However, currently the ban is not successful as Valentine’s Day Black market is thriving where lovers can go and buy red roses and other tokens for romance.

It seems not real for Malaysia to have banned yellow dressing in 2011. The Malaysian government banned the wearing of t-shirts, hats, wrist bands and Shoe laces because yellow was the color of a certain group of opposition activists. Iran has also banned the western hairstyles for men. In a move to keep its people from the western culture influence the Iran government came up with a list of approved hairstyles for men. Styles that became illegal were spikes, Mohawks and mullets. The hair salons that were found to go against the law could get penalized, and their license cancelled by the government.
