Stone Mountain, a quartz monzonite dome monadock is located in Georgia, United States with a height of 1,686 feet. Known for its geology and enormous bas-relief, it is popularly known as a pink granite dome. It developed during the formation of the Blue Ridge Mountains as a pluton. It formed from the process of melting of magma which then gets solidified in granite extending to 14km underground. It was primarily owned by the Venable Brothers and was later sold to the State of Georgia in 1958. Its summit comprises of bare rocks and rock pools and the low elevations are wooded, all providing the scenic views of surrounding area.
