18 Nov 1949, Ambala, India — Nathuram Vinayak Godse (l) and Narayan Dattatraya Apte, Hindu journalists and assassins of Indian nationalist leader Mahatma Gandhi. Godse was convicted as the actual slayer of Gandhi, and Apte was convicted as the leader of the assassination.
