Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 Oct,1869 in Porbandar,Kathiawar,West India.He was the leader of  Indian Independence.Gandhi was the youngest child of his father.His father, Karamchand Gandhi was the Dewan of Porbandar.Gandhi’s mother ,Karamchand’s fourth wife,had completely believe in religion.She divided her time between her home and the temple.                                                                                                                                                                At the age of 9,Gandhi entered the local school near his home in Rajkot. At the age of 11, he joined the High School.He was an average student.But being a Dewan’s son he got scholarship for his education.He won some prizes.But he was a shy student.In Nov 1887, at the age of 18,Gandhi completed his Graduate degree from high school in Ahmedabad. Mavji Dave Joshiji, a brahmin priest and family friend also their,advised Gandhi and his family for considering law studies in London. On 4 Sep he sailed from Bombay to London.That time his brother Laxmidas saw him off.Gandhi was totally vegetarian because of he joined the vegetarian society.Returning to India 1891,Gandhi learned that his mother had died just weeks earlier.                                                              At the age of 13, Mahatma Gandhi married Kasturba Makanji.Kasturba was a merchant’s daughter.Their marriage was an arranged marriage.In 1885,Gandhi’s father was died and that same time kasturba gave birth of her first child at the age of 17.But, unfortunately that child survived for a few days.They had four more children.                                                                                                                                                                                           Gandhi struggled to gain his footing as a lawyer. His first attempt in law practice was failed because of his nervousness when the time came to cross-section a witness.In 1893, a Muslim merchant, Dada Abdullah contacted Gandhi,as a lawyer for their large successful shipping business,in South Africa.They offered salary to him with travel expense.                                                                                                                                                                                          In April 1893,he sailed for Durban in the South African state Natal.He spent 21 years in South Africa where he built his political aspects.In 1906, Gandhi organised his first mass civil-disobedience campaign called ”Satyagraha”. At the request of GopalKrishna Gokhale, Gandhi return to India in 1915.He brought an International reputation as a leading Nationalist.Gandhi joined Indian National Congress.Gandhi took leadership of the Congress party in 1920.
