Iguaza Waterfalls  of the Iguazu River(rises near the city of Curitiba) , an outcome of a volcanic eruption, are on the border of the Brazilian state of Parana and the Argentinian province of Misiones which runs through the Devil’s Throat. It

“Iguazu” derived from the words- Tupi(water) and ûasú(big) appears as reverse “J”.  It is believed that a god wanted to marry a beautiful girl Naipi who escaped with her mortal lover Tarobá in a canoe (boat). In anger, he sliced the river, creating the waterfalls to condemn the lovers to an eternal fall.Eleanor Roosevelt exclaimed “Poor Niagara” after visiting the Iguazu Falls. It is one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Being close to 2 international airports ,it can be reached from the two main towns on its either sides. It is shared by the Iguazu National Parks of Argentina and Brazil .
