Currently Australia is one of the leading exporter of camels to Saudi Arabia which is once known to be the most well-known place for camel population today lacks it very much.
Due to huge consumption and slaughter of camel because of their pilgrims and hajj there has been a considerable reduction in camel population in Saudi Arabia.
On the Early July 100 animals were shipped from Darwin port of Australia to Arabia for meeting their needs.
Saudis don’t have much camels left for their consumption purpose as most of them were slaughtered in pilgrims in their hajj or Mecca.
Initially they use to purchase camels from Africa but due to immense drought disease, and political instability they stopped buying camels from them and shifted towards Australia.
For providing uninterrupted supply of camels to Saudi Arabia Australia imports camels mostly from Palestine and India between 1860 and 1907 around 10000 camels were imported.
